Boston Scientific Shares 2018 Community Engagement Global Impact Report

Feb 25, 2019

Our work in healthcare comes with a profound responsibility to those around us. We empower people and work together to advance possibilities through our focus on health, education and caring for communities around the world.

In 2018, Boston Scientific employees served 43,000+ volunteer hours at 600+ community events around the world.

That work made a far-reaching impact:

  • 8,500+ volunteers in 33 countries
  • 200+ STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) events
  • 10,500+ volunteer hours to promote STEM education

Our efforts also aim to reduce risk and decrease health disparities in chronic disease for underserved populations. Our global collaborations helped to increase the investment in, and number of, global healthcare workers focused on chronic disease in India, South Africa, Malaysia and Mexico. Since 2016 the combined impact of our partnerships with Project Hope, Partners in Health and Children’s HeartLink trained 1,089 healthcare workers and screened 13,406 people across all regions.

Thank you to all of our 2018 volunteers who made these accomplishments possible. Learn more about our community engagement programs by following the #BSCcommunity hashtag on Twitter.
