Delivering on our caring value: Boston Scientific supports coronavirus relief efforts

Feb 28, 2020

At Boston Scientific, our caring value guides how we engage with patients, how we work together as colleagues, and how we invest in the well-being of the communities where we live and work. As the COVID-19 outbreak continues to spread, Boston Scientific is donating supplies and funding to support relief efforts and address the region’s most pressing needs.

“During this challenging time, our priority is to protect and aid frontline medical personnel to ensure their health and safety. In doing so, the medical staff will be better placed to treat and serve that the affected patients, and help ensure the safety of the public,” said June Chang, president of Boston Scientific, Greater China operation.

To date, the company has donated more than $800,000 in supplies to hospitals in the Wuhan region, the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak, and other severely affected areas of Hubei Province. These critical supplies, sourced from four continents, include protective masks, goggles, gloves and other protective items to meet the urgent needs of healthcare providers.

In addition, Boston Scientific launched an employee match donation program supporting Project HOPE, a global health and humanitarian relief organization with people on the ground working to get supplies and support to front line healthcare workers.
