Guidant to Participate In Merrill Lynch Medical Technology Fundamentals Conference

Indianapolis, Ind. - Guidant Corporation (NYSE and PCX: GDT), a world leader in the treatment of cardiovascular and vascular disease, announced today that it will participate in the Merrill Lynch Medical Technology Fundamentals Conference. The conference, which will be webcast live on the day of the event, will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 28, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (EST) in New York.

Guidant management participating in the panel discussions are John Capek, Ph.D., president, Vascular Intervention, Fred McCoy, president, Cardiac Rhythm Management and Beverly Huss, president, Endovascular Solutions. The panel topics include interventional cardiology, interventional radiology, cardiac rhythm management and heart failure.

The live webcast of the Merrill Lynch Conference will be accessible through Guidant's website or through the Merrill Lynch website. The webcast will be archived on both sites for future on-demand replay.
