Guidant Corporation to Donate $1 Million in Medical Technology to the Larry King Cardiac Foundation

Donation to help low-income individuals receive life-saving cardiac therapies

LOS ANGELES, CA - During the Larry King Cardiac Foundation fundraiser, "An Evening with Larry King and Friends," Guidant Corporation will announce Guidant's agreement to donate $1 million of medical technology to the Larry King Cardiac Foundation over the next two and a half years. The donation will help low-income individuals who might otherwise be unable to receive potentially life-saving cardiac therapies.

"We at Guidant are honored to collaborate with the Larry King Cardiac Foundation to achieve a common goal of improving the lives of cardiac patients," said Fritz French, vice president, Guidant Corporation. "We hope that our partnership will benefit many individuals who are in need of potentially life-saving cardiac procedures."

As part of this partnership, the Larry King Cardiac Foundation, in conjunction with its affiliated hospitals, will identify low-income patients in need of cardiac care who will benefit from Guidant's generous donation.

"Guidant's donation will enable people who might otherwise not have access to important cardiac procedures to receive the care they need to treat their cardiac conditions," said John M.
