Guidant Sponsors Fellows Course to Educate Future Interventional Cardiologists

International Symposium Covers Latest Techniques and Technologies for Treating Coronary and Peripheral Vascular Disease

Indianapolis, Ind. and Santa Clara, Calif. - Guidant Corporation (NYSE and PCX: GDT), a world leader in the treatment of cardiac and vascular disease, is pleased to announce that it is continuing its commitment as the primary sponsor of the 8th Annual Interventional Cardiology Fellows Course. The Fellows Course, a medical symposium of which Guidant is a founding sponsor, hosts hundreds of future physicians in San Jose, Calif., from Wednesday, April 17, through Sunday, April 20.

The symposium features a faculty of some of the world's foremost experts in interventional cardiology who present various approaches to the treatment of coronary and peripheral vascular disease. Other topics include the future of interventional cardiology and the role of emerging therapies. Guidant-sponsored industry workshops cover the topics of Drug Eluting Stents, Intravascular Radiotherapy and Coronary Stenting.
