Guidant Group Chairman Ginger L. Graham Transitions to Advisor Role

Indianapolis, IN - Guidant Corporation (NYSE and PCX: GDT), a world leader in the treatment of cardiac and vascular disease, today announced that Ginger L. Graham has elected to move from her current position as Guidant Group Chairman to serve as an Advisor to Guidant President and CEO Ronald W. Dollens.

In this new position, Graham will focus her efforts on collaborative business partnerships, talent recruitment and development, and Guidant's women's health initiatives.

"Ginger has been instrumental in helping create Guidant Corporation and manage the business over the past decade," commented Dollens. "I know it was difficult for Ginger to make this decision, but she expressed a strong desire to step back from the constant and heavy travel to focus on the issues she feels are very important to her and the corporation. I am looking forward to Ginger's counsel and leadership directed toward these specific initiatives."

Graham will be located in Boulder, Colorado.

Her replacement has not been announced.
