Guidant to Host Investor Briefing at American College of Cardiology Meeting

Indianapolis, IN - Guidant Corporation (NYSE and PCX: GDT), a world leader in the treatment of cardiovascular and vascular disease, announced today that it will host an investor briefing during the American College of Cardiology meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, on Tuesday, March 19, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The briefing will be webcast live on the day of the event.

The meeting will be hosted by Fred McCoy, president, Cardiac Rhythm Management, Guidant Corporation, and will focus primarily on the results of the MADIT II trial and other cardiac rhythm management therapies. Also participating in the meeting will be the trial's principal investigator Arthur J. Moss, M.D., professor of Medicine and director of the Heart Research Follow-Up Program at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

The live webcast of Guidant's conference call will be accessible through Guidant's website at www.guidant.com/webcast or at CCBN's individual investor center at www.companyboardroom.com. The webcast will be archived on both websites for future on-demand replay.
