Guidant to Host Mid-Quarter Update Today at 11:00 a.m. EST

Indianapolis, Ind. - Guidant Corporation (NYSE and PCX: GDT), a world leader in the treatment of cardiac and vascular disease, will host a conference call to provide an update on the company''s business including recent developments in cardiac rhythm management. "We are reiterating our first quarter guidance of $0.54 - $0.60 earnings per share, as adjusted, and $855 - $895 million in revenue," stated Brauer. "Full-year guidance for 2003 remains $1.85 - $2.00 earnings per share, as adjusted, and approximately $3.2 billion in revenue."
